FAQ
Is Glenwood Custom Cabinets affiliated with the “Glenwood” line at Home Depot?
No, we are a custom cabinet shop and have been in business for over 50 years. Each of our cabinets is hand-crafted right here in Arizona by expert cabinetmakers and built to your exact specifications from the ground up. We are not and never have been affiliated with any other retailer or manufacturer. If you can dream it, we can make it!
What is the difference between custom and modular?
This is what the dictionary says:
Modular (sometimes referred to as 'semi-custom') - Something, as a house or piece of furniture, built or organized in self-contained units or sections. Can be combined or interchanged with others like it to create different shapes or designs.
Custom-made - Made to individual specifications. Made to fit the needs or requirements of a particular person. Absolutely no part of a set of cabinets will be made before our client has signed the final shop drawing
Why aren't custom cabinets all the same shade or color sometimes?
They are. We use materials that come from the Earth, not a paint swatch. Therefore, there are grain and density variations, and naturally occurring wood properties that can make each piece individually unique and beautiful.
What is a shop drawing?
A shop drawing is the working plan that tells the shop what you want specifically ... every detail. It's a simplified version of the contract, and it's your final word. It tells the shop "Go!"
Do you refinish, resurface, or reface?
No
Do you ever have mismade items sitting around that I could use in my garage or workshop?
I hope not, no!
Can you make my cabinets out of reclaimed wood?
We choose not to. There are several liabilities with reclaimed wood. It can bring termites or other various unwanted problems into our shop and into your home. However, we have methods that can give your cabinetry a similar look, if that's what you choose.
Do you install the cabinets?
We are a manufacturer only; we do not install. We have licensed installers that we highly recommend, or you can use your own as long as they'er licensed to maintain your warranty.
I live in a tract home. Can you replace one or two cabinet doors for me?
No
Can I make changes once production begins?
You can make changes, but it will require a Change Order which could drive up the total cost and force delays.
How can I get the process started?
Give us a call or email us your plan. It's that easy!
Do you also do remodel jobs?
Yes!
